Bayard divides his time between his work as a visual artist, writer with over one hundred and fifty short stories published to date and as founder and editor of the avant garde literary journal, Happy. Bayard's conceptual artwork is bold and intriguing, ranging from small, intimate pieces to installations on monumental scale.

Bayard currently favours three very similar though different media. He uses mohair yarn and wood to create his delicately wrought hanging installations, silicon impregnated rip stop nylon, thread and fan for his playful, curvaceous inflatable sculptures, fabric, rhinestones, foam rubber and acrylic yarn for his cantankerous foam poems. These diverse styles are united by Bayard's consistent use of fibre, his vibrant sense of colour, his creation of immensely tactile forms, and penchant for engaging, enigmatic titles.

Bayard is passionate in his belief that art speaks for itself without having to bear the burden of additional narratives and so-called explanations of meaning. As such, the onlooker encounters each piece with fresh and unhindered perceptions, and is free to interact and interpret the work in any way they choose.

Bayard's work has been successfully exhibited in the US , and is in collection in the Smithsonian Institute, Washington DC , The Hallmark Collection, Kansas City , and at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York . This year, Bayard's work is making its London debut.
